Island Lady

I want to be an Island Lady.  It's sort of my ultimate dream.  Just to walk around all barefoot and tan in a flowy caftan eating fresh fruit and being one with the sea (whatever that means).  Of course, I'll totally be the crazy lady that thinks the dolphins are my friends, but that's ok.  It's my happy place when I'm feeling like I need to get out of landlocked Kansas City. <br /><br />The person I think of when I think of an Island Lady is India Hicks.  I love her.  She was in Princess Diana's wedding for crying out loud! <br /><br />I also love her home in the Bahamas.  I love how it feels very collected and lived-in in appropriate spots and others feel very clean and crisp.  <br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; Moodboard Monday: More Bedroom Options (because I'm pregnant/insane)

Alright y'all, I'm <i>thisclose</i> to hiring someone to do my bedroom for me.  Actually, I know what my problem is, I like fancy things.  The bedrooms I <a href="http://pinterest.com/jhadley32/sweet-dreams/">regularly pin</a> belong to like old French princesses and Ladies and such.  I also like to change my mind about 1 million times.  Combine those super high-maintenance tendencies with the whole "negotiating with your husband" bit and I find myself overwhelmed with indecision.  Oh and pregnancy brain is killing my creative skillz.  <br /><br />But ultimately I want to love my bedroom.  I want it to be a sanctuary and a place to rest my mind. Have a Lovely Summer Weekend!

Moodboard Monday: More Bedroom Madness

Morning y'all! I played around more with my bedroom inspiration.  Again, I don't know why I'm bothering because we probably won't get to our bedroom for awhile.  It's hard to focus on a room no one really goes in when you have other spaces that get used by everyone that need attention.  But, my mom used to call me The Princess and The Pea and lately the giant bump I'm sporting has left me tossing and turning with the grace of a beached whale so our bedroom is on my mind regularly.  (Longtime readers:  remember how after I had Edward I obsessively posted pictures of beds I would sleep in?  It might happen again)<br /><br />Anyway, I've been dreaming of an all-white soothing bedroom as you know from <a href="http://www.belclairehouse.blogspot.com/2013/06/moodboard-monday-master-bedroom-sitting.html">here</a><br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; Houses in Which I Could Live, Part 5

Morning y'all! So my bestie just returned from a trip to Charleston where she will be moving in a couple months and I'm beyond excited for her.  Charleston is one of my favorite cities and I always tell Kip if he got an opportunity to move there, he wouldn't even have to run it by me.  Of course, that will probably never happen since we have things pretty good right here in Kansas City.  So instead, I'm going to enjoy knowing my best friend is there and I can visit her any time I want. <br /><br />It doesn't stop me from checking out a little historic Charleston real estate (outside my budget, of course).  I would LOVE to have a home in historic Charleston and this Church St. home looks just about perfect for me.  I'll take it fully furnished please :) <br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both;
