5 Ways to add interest to a dining room

I love the look of upholstered chairs with a wood table. They soften the hard edges and provide some relief in the "wood" department. I am trying to get up enough nerve to paint the solid ash buffets the same colour.   I'm not there yet.  It's difficult when your furniture is all hand made with love. <br /><br /><h4>Look for a harmonious  buffet </h4><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Forget about having a matching buffet (I wish I could!).  Look for one with the same undertone as your table  or chairs and similar lines if you like, or go for something painted or a different style entirely.  Some element of it should relate it to the room as a whole: wood tone, style, or colour of other objects in room.</div><br />Here are two I would choose for my space to work with my chairs.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; In my space I have silk drapes, lots of wood grain, a highly textured plant container made from ceramic, a white wavy vase, metal candlesticks with mother of pearl, and two plants.  I love texture!</div><br /><h4>Choose one unexpected element</h4>Right now the pot my ferns are in is my an unexpected item.  It is so rough and worn looking and I have it paired with silk drapes. Southern Charm

It was my four-year-old standing three feet away from my side of the bed, smiling and quietly staring at me at 11:30 PM. AH!! How long had he been there? This weekend I took the boys to Dallas for quick trip to surprise The Suze for her birthday! I picked up our favorite peachy pink roses because I knew she would want me to get myself flowers for her birthday (Of course, she has some flowers and sussies coming her way, I just stumbled on these at the grocery store). That's the kind of wonderful mom she is, one who genuinely delights in her children indulging in her favorite flower. <div><br></div><div>If I were in Dallas to celebrate with her I would probably make her walk down to <a href="http://www.ebby.com/property/32496803/3416-Drexel-Drive-Highland-Park-TX-75205">this house, which is for sale nearby</a>. <br><br>Checking out local real estate is one of our favorite things to do together.  This house pretty much looks like it's made for me (or The Suze). I love Kansas City, but it would be amazing to live down the street from my family (free babysitting and steak!). <br><br>So Mama, for your birthday we'll take a virtual tour through this house together and I won't tell anybody that you insisted on driving. <br><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;
