You can't go wrong with AF Collector's Item

Every morning I wake to Benjamin Moore's AF 45 Collector's Item. I like it so much and it is so versatile that I plan to paint my guest room the same colour!  Of course, I will have different accents and the room will look different because of those choices. It is a beautiful colour to hang art work on, and if you are fair it makes your skin look beautiful! Not a bad thing when you have to look in the mirror every  morning. I can't think on an accent colour that would look terrible with  Collector's Item.  I choose a soft green with a secondary accent of grayed purple. I'm getting ready to upholster the  chair which has to just sit there because the space is so limited.  On the left is the ensuite door. .  This  geometric fabric left over from another job is my current like, but that could change next week.  I know I want something with a little pattern.<br /><br /> I can't seem to re-gift my Tiffany lamp even thought it is slightly off in the room. Sentiment wins with me every time. I guess you've already figured out I don't have matching furniture.   It's the artist in me.  I love to take assorted items and make them work. <br /><br /> The official description of Collector's Item  on the B Moore website as a "soft off-white hue with pink undertones" that "quietly supports a space like a pedestal supports a sculpture" is spot on.  Don't be thrown by the pink undertones in the description.  I like it because it doesn't have any  hints of yellow which is not complimentary for  someone with silver hair  and fair skin.   If you want to look good in the morning this is a the wall colour for you.<br /><br /> I've  also seen  Collector's Item  used as a trim colour  with darker neutrals such as Ashley Gray or <a href="http://www.benjaminmoore.ca/en-ca/for-your-home/rooms-by-colour/sophisticated-neutral-entry">Taos Taupe (2111-40)</a> as seen on the Benjamin Moore Site.  <br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgP2K0IjtqB_QHMaWvBV0B5Gju3DkPJZiIjOxzLEOEdQFhCyYiAMuUPmCNvI5it91fHll_8mmONAYqejhGdWSr2yKFJ5VZBWOzYhyphenhyphencGT74ZXPNavJnLwlz_kOt6I82y-yE0MEp6MgD3hu0U/s1600/Fairview+Taupe.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"></div>

Then I realized I would look super cray cray to my new friends when I commented 25 more times on my own status. So rather than stop the insanity, I decided to bring it over here for the rest of y'all. <br /><br />I'm panicking about the move.  Not really full-on panicking, just sort of freaking out. <br /><br />I'm pretty sure this started with the Real Housewives of New Jersey.  I felt incredible anxiety watching the riveting season finale.*<br /><br /><br /><span style="font-size: x-small;">* I'm still not sure what to believe. Apparently half of them were strippers, but I mean, strippers are probably nice people, too.  Who's to judge besides Theresa, who's never been a stripper, but likes to let it slip when she know you were.  No one's ever accused me of being a stripper so I don't really know how it feels.  I guess I'd be mad, but then I'd be like "sooo you're saying I'm skinny?" and taking it as a compliment.  Wow, what is happening here.  Why am I talking about strippers. Oh yes, my anxiety.  </span><br /><div><br /></div><br />I never have anxiety (except when I'm flying).  I'm usually like <i>whatevs, we'll get it done, let's open some champagne</i>.  But, no, I'm sitting here in bed thinking things like what if the packers have to call in reinforcements because I'm exhibiting some hoarding qualities, or what if they judge me for having too many toys for Edward? Why do I care? OR OR what if they pack the bananas? maybe it's an accident. Maybe Edward put a half-eaten banana in the sock drawer and then it sits on the truck for 10 days and our whole house smells like a rotten banana.  What other things has Edward hidden?  Sandwiches? They can show up anywhere in this house!<br /><br />But then my friend Paige left the following comment: "It's exciting to move! Forget being judged - who cares! :)"  She so right.  She knows how to calm a lady down.  She's a wedding planner, and planned my beautiful <a href="http://belclairehouse.blogspot.com/2011/01/blue-and-white-wedding.html">blue and white wedding</a>, and always knows how to look on the bright side.  I will shamelessly promote her day and night because she's the best and that one little comment made me instantly relax and put things in perspective. I can't believe the weekend is already here. That box is about the extent of my packing.  It's crunch-time now.  But first, long before we ever planned to move, Kip and I planned a trip to Charleston, well, actually <a On Magazine Subscriptions

Morning y'all! (this is a long post, skip to the bottom for a summary if you have ADHD)<br /><br />I need you to talk to me for a second about magazines.  I love them, but I have let my subscriptions lapse since we are moving.  Oprah was not too happy about this.  Her "people" are sending me collection agency notices for not renewing my subscription.  It's slightly alarming to get stuff in the mail from a collection agency and then even more so to get it from Oprah.  And do you know how hard it is to get a hold of Oprah to tell her you don't want her magazine right now?? It's impossible! Other mags do it, too, and it's very deceptive.  I wonder how many people just pay the money and subscribe for fear of a credit issue.  Just thinking out loud here.  It's something I'm going to look into.<br /><br />But that's really not what I'm here today to talk about - although if anybody who reads this is close friends with Oprah could you please tell her to knock it off - I'm here today to ask you what magazines you like and how you like to get them? Ever since the loss of my beloved <i>Southern Accents</i> and <i>Domino</i> (representing both sides of my dueling design demons), I've been like a lost child wandering in the woods looking for some identity.  Also, do I go the digital route and have them delivered to me over the internets or do I continue with the ancient method of prints on glossy papers, which are then bound and hand-delivered to the box that contains papers the old folks call "mail." Lessons learned

Vivid greens are subtly moving into golds and oranges and there's a bite in the air even on sunny days.  My mind is  moving on to what I want to do to herald the  fall season.   I never go all out in these things because my design aesthetic is very understated. Oh Hi! Hi!<br /><br />That's what Edward says when I catch him getting into something he shouldn't be getting into.  It's actually fairly genius because it throws me off for a second, which is just long enough for him to move away from whatever it is he's not supposed to be playing with i.e. Daddy's telescope, candle wax, Mommy's shoes, scissors.<br /><br />As much as I'm on his case, it's time for me to give myself a big "no ma'am" for all of the procrastinating I have been doing.  I just realized I have about a week to get myself, my family and my house ready for the move.  I'm clearly in denial, which is weird because I'm so excited! I like the rounded back, but not the pattern or the colour.  Perhaps something in a deeper aqua  with a rounded back would be a better foil for the dresser.   "Breathing space" is important and this chair doesn't have any.   If you needed a chair there  and that was the only amount of space available, a darker aqua chair   would fit better visually and connect with the other elements.   <br /><br />When I'm adding accessories to a striking piece like this dresser , I always want larger scale pieces  that provide colour contrast and variety in shapes. I like the white box, but I would choose a larger plant and a more rounded third object  and then overlap the arrangement to move your  eye around. <br /><br /><br /> The artwork would work better with a different chair.<br /><br />And that's my take! What's your opinion?  Come on, you know you have one.  <br /><br /><br /><br />

But I <i>love</i> this color -  <a href="http://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-color/narragansettgreen">Benjamin Moore Narragansett Green</a>.  I also love the balance of the masculine and feminine in the room.  It's just gewd.<br /><br />Maybe I need to rename this the Belclaire House Bedroom Blog or the Belclaire House I'm Losing My Mind Not Being Able To Fully Furnish A House I Have Yet To Inhabit And I Need To Paint Something Now Blog.  Only 38 more days (<a href="http://www.google.com/imgres?hl=en&sa=X&biw=1055&bih=552&tbm=isch&prmd=imvns&tbnid=74p9oBOZ5JJkIM:&imgrefurl=http://www.fashionrebel.com.au/tag/top-australian-fashion-blogs/&imgurl=http://www.fashionrebel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/Ramona-singer-crazy-Eyes.jpg&w=550&h=452&ei=f7xGUOz8NsmOygHyw4CYCQ&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=356&sig=113018092880015703140&page=1&tbnh=110&tbnw=133&start=0&ndsp=20&ved=1t:429,r:9,s:0,i:104&tx=105&ty=108">Ramona crazy eyes</a>).

Pale Pink Bedroom Love

I'm thinking I should go with the more <strike>deceptive</strike> descriptive "warm, glowy tannish."
