Hump-Day Happies: Etsy Prints from Trafalgar's Square

I have been spending a lot of time in the nursery this week.  A lot.  The munchkin is teething <i>and</i> has a cold <i>and</i> has a habit of climbing to a standing position the second he opens his eyes.  It's pretty amazing how quickly he gets up there and I'm pretty sure he's confused about why he's standing once he fully wakes up. <br /><br /><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">If I ever write a children's book (which I would love to do someday), they would have to be my illustrators.  Note: <a href="http://belclairehouse.blogspot.com/search/label/The%20Suze">The Suze</a> only likes children's books with "sweet illustrations."  "Make sure there are sweet pictures and take note of the illustrator," she says.  Perhaps her penchant for aesthetically appealing children's books is why I only like to look at pretty things now. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; Suzeday Tuesday: Short and Sweet

This week's Suzeday Tuesday is going to be short and sweet because I have 4% left on my battery and it's suddenly not charging.  But first, thank you to all of you who visited from <a href="http://www.myfavoriteandmybest.com/">MFAMB</a> yesterday and especially those of you who left such nice comments!!! Coral Velvet Delight

Hey y'all! So over the weekend in a fit of design blogger <s>nerd-dome</s> awesomeness, Jenny of <a href="http://www.myfavoriteandmybest.com/">MFAMB</a> and I decided to make dual mood boards based on a delicious coral velvet headboard she found on <a href="http://www.myfavoriteandmybest.com/mfamb-home/2011/6/24/dc-craig-aka-1stdibs.html">Craigslist for Washington DC</a>.  In case you haven't heard, Jenny has magical Craigslist prowess and manages to find beautiful things that us amateurs could never uncover.  For all my KC peeps, you must go <a href="http://www.myfavoriteandmybest.com/mfamb-home/2011/6/20/kansas-city-craig-sifting-through-a-lot-of-turds-to-get-to-t.html">here</a> and see what she did with our notoriously lame Craigslist last week. <br /><br />I must confess, I make mood boards when I'm stressed out or bored, so this was a fun work-job for me.  (The Suze used to call crafts and stuff work-jobs when we were little). I like my wood to integrate with the other elements in a room, not stand out. I like to use wood for its texture, not colour. </li><li><b>clean lines</b> allow your eyes to move over an object and  on to something else.They create visual flow in a room which works to create a  relaxing atmosphere.  Boxy is better in my view because these lines seem to fit/follow the envelope of a room .  Rectangular shapes can be softened by  accessories and softer textiles.</li><li> <b>sculptural shapes</b>  are added in the lamp, vases, boxes  and rock like structures in front of the window. There are other shapes hiding. Have a closer look. The selection of these accessories were not done in haste because they play perfectly with each other. This room depends on sculpture as an art form.  Notice there are no two dimensional art pieces on the walls.  </li><li><b>variety in  textiles</b> (pattern, texture) is a must to support a mainly monochromatic room. Fortunately for him, I find him so delicious and squeezable that I immediately forget any grievances I have against him.

Suzeday Tuesday: Bedrooms

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The Suze doesn't have too many master bedrooms in her files.  This is probably because she has the world's most comfortable bed and thus change is not a priority.  I, however, have beds on the brain because, really, all I want to do in life is sleep.  So I pulled the bedroom files I do have and am sharing them with y'all!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;
